Rose-Hulman STEM Jubilee

Our day at the first ever Rose-Hulman STEM Jubilee!

I’m so excited to share this with you because if you too have a curious kid who loves to build, tinker, experiment, or ask a million questions a day… you will love the STEM Jubilee at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.

We had the best time exploring this event. Keep reading for more insight, info and tips.

This is the first time Rose-Hulman has done this event, and judging by the turnout and excitement I witnessed- I’m sure it won’t be the last!

This event was outdoors and consisted of 20+ booths packed with hands-on activities, live demos, interactive experiments, and games—all created to get kids excited about science, technology, engineering, and math.

My daughter got to launch homemade rockets made from vinegar and baking soda, watch robots at work, play with circuits, explore physics through games and crafts, and even do some pretty cool chemistry experiments.

The best part was that every booth was run by Rose-Hulman students and faculty, who were SO kind, welcoming, and seriously passionate about sharing what they know. You could tell they truly enjoyed working with the younger generation teaching them about STEM. It was so fun to watch the lightbulbs go off in my daughter’s head as she connected play with real-world learning.

Here’s what I loved most:

  • It was completely free.

  • Activities were thoughtfully designed for kids in grades K through 8, and each table was labeled with what Grade the activity was recommended for.

  • It was so neat to be on a college campus that’s literally shaping the next generation of innovators. These students are all so smart and it was fun to watch their passion for STEM through teaching the younger generation.

  • Parking was easy.

  • It’s all outside- so dress for the weather.

If you’re in Indiana (or even a short drive away), this is one of those experiences that’s 100% worth making the trip for. Whether your child is already into STEM or just beginning to explore, the STEM Jubilee is a total win.

If you’re coming from out of town- plan to make a day of it, explore the beautiful Rose-Hulman campus, grab lunch in Terre Haute and enjoy the day connecting and spending some quality time with your kiddo!

I’ll absolutely be watching for next year’s event —and I’ll be the first in line to sign up.
