McCloud Prairie Maze: 7am-9pm. McCloud Nature Park, North Salem. Prairie maze at McCloud Nature Park featuring a bald eagle design. The maze is open daily from Sept. 5–Oct. 31, from dawn to dusk. Free.

The Traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall: located at Charleston Pavillion at Hummel Park, Plainfield. The Wall is a 3/5 scale of the Vietnam Memorial in Washington DC, it stands six feet tall at the center and covers almost 300 feet from end to end. Free.

Sporties for Shorties: 10-11am. Arbuckle Acres Park, Brownsburg. For ages 4-5. A four-day introductory sports program for young children covering the basics of throwing, catching, dribbling and more through hands-on activities with t-ball, basketball and soccer. Parent participation is required. $35/person, register here.

Wild Wednesdays: 5pm. Lucas Oil Raceway, Indianapolis. An open-to-all drag racing event for cars, trucks and motorcycles at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park. All vehicles must pass a tech inspection, drivers must have a valid license, and racing is limited to 200 Tech Cards. $30 for spectators, children 12 and under free.

Autumnal Pressed Flower Lanterns: 6-8pm. Pecar Nature Park, Avon. A hands-on craft program for ages 13+ where participants create glass jar lanterns decorated with dried pressed flowers and colorful fall leaves. $12/person.

Cars & Coffee: 8am-11am. Scamahorn Park, Pittsboro. A morning car show featuring a lineup of vehicles, attendee voting, trophy awards, raffles, food trucks and coffee. Free to attend.

Hometown Heroes: 9am-6pm. Beasley’s Orchard, Danville. A community event honoring local first responders, with free admission for police officers, firefighters, military members and EMTs, plus 50% off admission for immediate family members. First responders will be on-site with their work vehicles. Proof of badge or identification is required for discounted admission.

Hendricks County Author Showcase: 9am-2pm. The Author’s Patch, Danville. A local authors showcase featuring more than 60 authors, books, craft-themed book items and food trucks. Attendees can meet local writers, browse books and discover new reads. Free.

The Indiana Guitar Show: 10am-5pm. Hendricks County 4-H Fairgrounds, Danville. Guitar and music instrument show featuring musicians and national dealers buying, selling and trading instruments. Attendees can also bring instruments for evaluation. $15 at the door.

Celebrating Avon: 11am-3pm. Avon-Washington Township Public Library. A free, family-friendly festival celebrating Avon’s history and community featuring historical displays, a Pioneer Path, beekeeping and spinning demonstrations, a petting zoo, inflatable slide, tabletop games, putt-putt, archery and a Candy Drop. Lunch will be available for purchase. Free.

National Alpaca Farm Day Open House: 11am-3pm. Montrose Farms Alpaca Ranch, Brownsburg. A farm event featuring alpaca meet-and-greets, farm tours, local vendors, alpaca merchandise, a spinning demonstration and photo opportunities. No public restrooms are available. $5/person.

Father Son Survival Skills with Camptown: 5-8pm. A three-hour father-son adventure featuring survival skills such as map and compass, water filtration, tent setup and fire building through hands-on activities and friendly competitions.
